Who we are

Hi, I'm Cath Taylor, Founder, Managing Director, Lead Assistive Technologist, and Developmental Educator at Make Tech Work 4 U.I started this business because of the many ways technology has enabled the lives of the people I work with every day. My team and I are driven not by the latest gadget or trend, but by the ways in which technology can be personalised to cater for people's individual needs.
Meet the Team
  • Cath Taylor (She/Her) – Founder, Lead Assistive Technologist & Developmental Educator
  • Jessica Taylor (She/Her) – Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist & Assistive Technologist servicing the Illawarra and surrounds with national capabilities.
By combining specialised O&M navigation training with expert assistive technology support, we provide comprehensive, holistic care tailored to your needs.
Our Core Services & Approach
  • Assistive Technology & AAC: We specialise in finding and implementing the right tools, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, to ensure every individual has a strong, reliable voice and the means to express themselves fully, regardless of speech or physical or cognitive barriers.
  • Orientation & Mobility (O&M): Our O&M specialist, Jessica Taylor, provides personalised O&M training for individuals of all ages with varying levels of vision impairment. Whether supporting a young child exploring their home and school or an adult to master complex public spaces, Jessica teaches essential skills like spatial awareness, functional vision use, and tailored environmental adaptation strategies. Jessica has an interest in Cortical Visual Impairment and Macular degeneration. She understands how tiring visual processing can be and respects what each person needs. She makes accessibility more personal, helping you navigate the world in your own way.
  • Empowering Choice & Inclusion: We believe every individual's journey is unique. Whether someone relies on wearable assistive devices, AAC, specialised low-vision strategies, or alternative tools, personal choice and autonomy for individuals will always come first.
Our Values
  • Neuro-Affirming Practice: We embrace neurodiversity, honoring how every unique mind processes the world and rejecting deficit-based models.
  • Proud Allyship: We are a safe, inclusive, and proud ally for First Nations peoples and the LGBTQIA+ community, ensuring culturally sensitive and respectful support for everyone.
